WHAT WE BELIEVE

What We Believe

We believe in the saving gospel of Jesus Christ, as declared in Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” This foundational truth reveals the plan of salvation for all mankind.

We believe that repentance is a turning away from sin and a surrendering of the heart to God. Baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ is for the remission of sins, and it is through this act of obedience that we are buried with Him and raised to walk in newness of life. We believe in the infilling of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, as was experienced by the believers on the day of Pentecost.

We hold fast to the Apostolic doctrine, the oneness of God, and the authority of the Scriptures as the inspired Word of God. Our desire is to walk in holiness, love, and truth, and to share the message of salvation with a lost and dying world.

Our responsibility is to lift the fallen, visit the sick, strengthen the weak, encourage the discouraged, comfort the troubled, point the lost to salvation, and inspire believers to seek a Spirit-filled life (Ephesians 5:18; Acts 19:1-6). We also prepare for the coming of the Lord, fulfilling His commission through service and devotion (James 1:27; 1 Thessalonians 5:4; Mark 16:15-18; Matthew 25:1-13).

Additionally, as members of the “royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6; 5:10), we are entrusted with the vital duty of offering prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving for all people—leaders, authorities, and governing officials—so that we may live peaceful, godly, and honorable lives (1 Timothy 2:1-4; Romans 13:1-14). We are called to submit to human ordinances for the Lord’s sake, whether to kings, presidents, or governors, who serve to uphold justice and honor good conduct, as long as these laws do not violate the liberty of our service to God according to conscience (1 Peter 2:13-17; Titus 3:1-2; Matthew 22:21).
